To start, you don’t have to be good; to be good, you have to start.

Don’t hesitate! Just give it a try!

What is the PTT-Gossiping Board Gossiping about?

  1. If you could choose to become a kind of animal in your next life, which animal would you pick? And tell me why?
  2. If you could choose to live in any era, would you like to live in the future, in the past or just at present? Why?
  3. If you could have the ability to foresee the future, would you want to have it or not? Why?
  4. If you could decide your height, would you like to be taller, shorter or the same? Why?
  5. If there is a magical food, and after you eat it, you won’t feel hungry for a month, would you want to have it? Why?

Give It a Try!

There are some good points:

  1. Special Metaphors–> I was red and hot like a lantern.
  2. Showing pictures can grab the audiences’ attention.
  3. Give the audience some surprise, go out of everyone’s expectation

There are also some points to be better:

  1. Create an atmosphere to bring the audiences into your speech
  2. Story telling can be a good technique.

What is the PTT-Gossiping Board Gossiping about?

There are some good points:

  1. Really strong structure
  2. Revealed the truth of PTT-Gossiping Board

There are also some points to be better:

  1. More body language or interact with the audience
  2. Say something deeper about PTT, but not just easy introduction

General Evaluation!

  1. Mind the pronunciation of the Germany names: Beethoven, Goethe (Sharing Session)
  2. Bringing shame on me is better than being shy and lonely. You can also say→self-deprecating, self-deprecation (Prepared Speech of Chang-Ting)
  3. Gossip is not countable in English, so you should change the way to say: Ask a gossip→  request/ask for/expose/share a piece of gossip (Prepared Speech of Danny)
  4. Great use:  Using ptt as a platform or mobilization. Platform is literally something we can stand on, but is also a medium where information can be distributed. (Prepared Speech of Danny)
  5. If you are interesting in this activity you can sign up→ interested (Officer’s Anouncement)
  6. These things all cost → These things all cost money   (Treasurer)
  7. How to emphasize this point? → How can we emphasize this point?   (Treasurer)

TME: What do you love about me?

Previous Answer: There are some good parts and some bad parts.

Jeff’s Answer: I love everything about you.

1 Catch the attention of your audience

Things we can’t prepare: fluency language, the impromptu thing

Things we can prepare: the powerpoint → English on the ppt should be accurate

Things about the Powerpoint

You can use a lot of pictures and there should be a tempo there.

Catch the audience’s attention but not distract them (avoid animation)

3 Keep your focus to what you are talking

You have to say something you agree.

See it as a chance to tell somebody who you are or share your personality. Don’t see the speech as a competition; it’s just a performing, a chance to communicate. So, find your way to perform.
